PDA is a performance work that uses the everyday actions of human intimacy and affections to explore the nuances of Public Display of Affection. Props, choregraphed movement, and ‘official’ park signage will unravel histories of who, how and when affections are displayed in public park settings. PDA was an all day performance involving 18 dancers moving among the benches and entrances of the Lurie Garden, Chicago. This project was conceived and performed in collaboration with choreographer Jennifer Allen.
